2024-09: GNU Taler v0.14 released

We are happy to announce the release of GNU Taler v0.14.

We have addressed over 180 individual issues, our bug tracker has the full list. Notable changes include:

  • NEW: Support for limiting transaction and refund amounts
  • NEW: AML staff can now define rules for bank accounts not previously known to the exchange
  • NEW: Two new merchant helper processes for less-redundant and more timely interactions with the exchange
  • NEW: SHOPPING_URL configuration option to inform buyers about a Web site listing shops accepting GNU Taler
  • NEW: Challenger now supports RFC 7636
  • NEW: UI/UX across mobile apps redesigned for better usability
  • NEW: Addressed all security issues found in external security audit of libeufin
  • NEW: AML helper programs can specify which inputs they require, lessening system load
  • Various minor bugfixes, user experience and documentation improvements

Our work is co-funded by the European Commission and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) as part of the NGI TALER project.

The wallet has its own download site here. The exchange, merchant backend, sync and bank components are distributed via the GNU FTP mirrors.

You must first install GNUnet v0.23.1 or the current Git master to compile GNU Taler 0.14 from source.
